LearningKeys.com - Interactive Tutor for Pie Charts

Instructions

We recommend you first create a list of two to seven positive integers (from 1 to 100) and draw a pie chart representing the elements of your list before you click on the button. Then compare your drawing against the displayed result. Note: The input must be of the proper form A,B,C (e.g. use 3,9,12 or 12,15,34,23,11). (No blanks or other notations are permitted)

If you are brand new to fractions or pie charts, we recommend you try lists of 2 numbers first. For example, take a look at 1,3 and compare it to 2,6 and 3,9. Why are these charts exactly the same? Are there any more pairs of numbers with the same charts? Then explore other combinations of numbers. See if you can get comfortable with various fractions and ratios and can accurately predict how a pie chart will look for a given list of numbers.
